Brezoi is a beautiful tourist destination located in the Carpathian Mountains of Romania. It is a small mountain town, about 7000 inhabitants, located in the Southern Carpathians at the confluence of Lotrului and Oltul, at an average altitude of 400 m and at a distance of 200 km from Bucharest, 70 km from Sibiu, 35 km from Rm. Vâlcea.
With lots of natural beauties makes it a popular place for outdoor activities such as hiking, camping and skiing. The town itself has beautiful architecture, including a stunning church in the village of Proieni (Brezoi) – a very old church about which local tradition has it that it was here that Michael the Brave married Lady Stanca in 1583. Popular legends also say that in this church the ruler Michael the Brave was baptized. The present church, dedicated to “All Saints”, dates back to 1798.
