The monastery is located at the foot of Capatânii Mountain, on the outskirts of the village of Românii de Sus, about 50 km west of Râmnicul Vâlcea, in Vâlcea county. The monastery complex at Hurezi covers an area of 3 hectares, including the monastery itself, the Bolnița Church, and two hermitages, that of the Holy Apostles Andrew and Saint Stephen.

Troubadour Museum
The Trovantilor Museum is an open-air museum in Costești, 7 km from Horezu, in Valcea county. They are strange, bizarre, spherical, ellipsoidal or figure-eight shaped. They range in size from a few centimetres to several metres. They are “born” in a sandy hill, they come out of a ravine and fall into a valley. These are the stones from the Costesti commune in Valcea, known scientifically as trovanti.
Horse Park “Poiana lui Căliman”
The name of Caliman’s Glade comes from a 5th century story about Caliman, a shepherd who used to graze his animals in this glade and who noticed that they no longer fell ill with foot disease, known at that time, grazing here.
The shepherd went to the monks of Cozia Monastery, telling them that he had cured himself by bathing in a lake in the glade and was convinced that this lake had divine powers since he no longer had back pain and the sheep were cured too. The monks checked and found the healing springs around Cozia Monastery.
Maldăr Mansion

The Goranu Pyramids
It is located about 4 km from the town of Ramnicul Valcea and is an important geological reserve in Romania.The natural area is also known as the Stăncioiului Valley Earth Pyramids. More precisely, they are located in the Valcea Subcarpathians, a subdivision of the Getic Subcarpathians, in the eastern part of the Goranu district of the municipality of Ramnicu Valcea. The pyramids are formed due to the alluvial deposits and heavy rains. Their surface exceeds 12 ha and their height is about 80 meters in some places.
